Social connection and youth mental health
Social connection is central to young people’s mental health, yet many young people living with serious mental health challenges experience loneliness, exclusion and stigma. To address this, we were awarded funding via the University of Bristol Global Positioning fund to form an international collaboration that brought together young people with lived experience, researchers, peer support workers, students, and community organisations in the UK and Canada. Through a series of workshops at the University of British Columbia, we identified shared research priorities and opportunities for new studies, interventions and international collaboration.
